The Sound of a King - Dr. Tumi

Dr. Tumi

From the quiet place of fellowship with God to the global stage, Dr. Tumi has continued to bless the Body of Christ with songs that carry Scripture, hope, healing and the fragrance of worship. A seasoned minister of song, songwriter, producer, instrumentalist and vocalist, Dr. Tumi's ministry is distinguished by word-based songs that flow from his relationship with God and speak to the realities of everyday life.

Born and raised in Seshego, Limpopo, South Africa, Dr. Tumi's journey is a remarkable convergence of medicine and music. A medical doctor by profession, he has also been graced to minister healing through songs that inspire faith, hope and a deeper experience of God. His musical journey began in the church, where he developed his gifts as a singer, pianist and songwriter.

His ministry has continued to transcend borders and generations. As the former lead singer of the award-winning gospel group Intense, Dr. Tumi composed almost the entire Heart2Heart album before releasing his celebrated solo project Heart of a King, for which he wrote all 16 tracks. His music has earned recognition while, more importantly, becoming a vessel through which many encounter the message of Christ.

At the heart of his ministry is a deep conviction that worship must carry substance. His inspiration flows from fellowship, the Word and his journey with the Lord, producing songs that are not merely designed to be heard but to minister to the heart. His desire is for his music to bring healing, inspiration, hope, revival and an experience of God on another dimension.

This year, that sound from South Africa will be heard in Nairobi as Dr. Tumi joins the Rhema Feast 2026 family. His presence promises more than a musical performance; it is an opportunity for worshippers to encounter songs born from a walk with God and to be drawn back to the One at the centre of the worship.

From medicine to melodies, from the church pews to international platforms, Dr. Tumi's journey reminds us that a gift surrendered to God can become a blessing to generations. His songs have travelled across cultures and seasons, carrying the timeless message of the Word.

Nairobi, prepare your heart. The sound of a king is coming. And when Dr. Tumi takes the platform at Rhema Feast 2026, may our songs become more than music. May they become an offering.

Then I said to them, “You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace.”

Nehemiah 2:17 (NKJV)
